An amp case is not a cheap purchase, and choosing the wrong one can lead to problems such as it not fitting properly or being too heavy to carry.
In this article, we’ll clearly explain how to choose an amp case without making mistakes, including price guidelines, how to think about sizing, the differences between DIY and custom orders, and how to choose based on your intended use.

The Reality of Not Having an Amp Case
■ ① Damage During Transport Is Worse Than You Think
Although amplifiers are precision equipment, they are also very heavy, which puts significant strain on them during transport. You have to handle them in various situations—loading them into and unloading them from a car, going up and down stairs, navigating steps and uneven surfaces, and moving through narrow passageways.
In these situations, there’s always a chance of making contact with something, and the risk of bumping into objects is essentially unavoidable.

Common issues include damaged corners, peeling exterior surfaces, harm to the wooden structure, and even impact damage to internal components. These problems often accumulate little by little through daily transport, and by the time you notice, they may have become too significant to ignore.
Once an amp is damaged, it not only affects its appearance but can also potentially impact its sound quality.
■ ② Accidents in Studios and Live Venues
At studios and live venues, there are constant risks such as contact with other equipment, instability when stacking, and accidental bumps from people moving around. In these environments, unexpected impacts are common, and amps are often placed in situations that can’t really be considered safe.
Without a case, even minor impacts can pose a risk of the amp tipping over.
■ ③ Worn Appearance = Reduced Credibility
Often overlooked, the appearance of your gear directly shapes how others perceive you as a player. An amp covered in scratches, with a dirty exterior or crushed corners, can give the impression that it hasn’t been handled with care.
Especially at live shows, joint gigs, and professional settings, these first impressions are something you simply can’t afford to ignore.
■ ④ Risk of Repair Costs and Replacement Expenses
Amp repairs are by no means cheap. It’s not uncommon for repair costs to run into tens of thousands of yen, and in some cases, replacement may even be necessary.
The way to prevent these risks before they happen is by using an amp case.
COSMIOS Trading’s Philosophy
The name COSMIOS comes from the Greek word meaning “well-ordered.” It carries not only the idea of something looking neat and organized, but also the nuance of an entire equipment environment being properly managed.
What we aim for is not simply selling cases. Our goal is to provide a well-organized equipment environment itself—at a price that anyone can afford.
If cases designed to protect expensive gear are themselves too expensive to afford, that’s not how things should be. That’s why COSMIOS achieves overwhelmingly low prices while maintaining high quality, durability, and a high level of customization.
Why Are We Able to Keep Prices This Low?
Some of you might even feel, “It’s so cheap that it actually makes me a bit uneasy.”
However, the reason is actually very simple.
■ Lean, Highly Skilled Team Operation
COSMIOS is a company run by two brothers. Because it is not a large organization, we are able to thoroughly minimize labor, administrative, and unnecessary costs, enabling efficient operations.
■ Direct collaboration with Chinese factories
We have partner factories in China, and COSMIOS’s local staff communicate with them directly. This allows us to reduce intermediary margins, accelerate development speed, and at the same time maintain strict quality control.
Additionally, our factories partner with domestic logistics providers in China, which helps keep local shipping costs low. For transportation from China to Japan, our local staff conduct thorough research and carefully select reliable carriers that offer attentive service at a reasonable cost. As a result, we achieve significant cost reductions across the entire logistics process.

**Compatible Models for ARK Amp Cases**
At COSMIOS, instead of using the typical L/R (left/right) design, we create optimal case designs based on size categories such as 110, 112, 212, 410, 412, and heads. This approach allows us to support a wide range of amplifiers while maintaining high precision and keeping manufacturing costs low.

How Long Does It Take for an Order to Arrive?
We completely understand that you want to receive your order as soon as possible after placing it. However, since our products are primarily made to order, each item is carefully manufactured and packaged at the factory before being shipped internationally. Under normal circumstances, it takes approximately 50 days from the time you place your order until the product arrives.
However, we have received requests from customers who need their cases as soon as possible—for example, because they have an upcoming live performance, a scheduled appearance on cable TV, or simply need the product urgently. We understand how important it can be to have your equipment case arrive in time for these events. For this reason, we have discussed the situation with our overseas factory and explored every possible way to deliver your order even one day sooner.
Our current solution is as follows: For amp cases up to size 130, we can offer expedited production and delivery via EMS air freight for an additional ¥3,000JPY. With this expedited service, we are able to have your order delivered within 20 days of placing your order. For more details, please see the article below.
